SUSHEAT system
to be validated
at Mandrekas
Mandrekas is one of the two case studies offering validation of the SUSHEAT system with waste heat recovery and the integration of solar energy with an upgrade of heat to 190°C.
Modelling studies will consider the system scale up for a maximum heat pump size. This will be based on the theoretical maximum rate of waste heat recovery, and the practicalities of recovering the theoretical maximum load that will have heat pump design and cost implications.
Finding the optimal combination of waste heat recovery and solar-thermal input based on the cost of the system and emissions (both in isolation and through multi-objective optimisation) will be a major output of the project.
The SUSHEAT system will be tested at KTH’s labs where several modifications will be made to the system to closely represent the Mandrekas Case Study.
